Will You Miss Me?

"Will you miss me when I'm gone?" he asked as we headed off to school. Before I could even muster an answer - he added "You know - when I grow up and leave home...I'm going to China." I tried to assure him I'd somehow be in touch every day.  Maybe we can facetime or Skype I thought to myself.

Someone once said that, to a child, Love is time. The time we get to spend with our children is their measure or sense of how much we love them. It doesn't have to be at Disney World - sitting next to a favorite fishing hole will do just fine.  Or simply the few hours each evening enjoying a healthy meal and some reading time together. As long as they feel our attention and focus, they feel our Love!

Love

If I speak with the tongues of men and of angels, but have not love, I am become sounding brass, or a clanging cymbal. 

 And if I have the gift of prophecy, and know all mysteries and all knowledge; and if I have all faith, so as to remove mountains, but have not love, I am nothing. 

 And if I bestow all my goods to feed the poor, and if I give my body to be burned, but have not love, it is nothing.
