From the Eyes of A Child

    Awesome little video - Check it out.

Actions and Consequences

    Is it bad parenting if you want your child to think you're cool? How about caving in just to keep your children happy? If the answer is yes - then I'm afraid to admit I've had more than my share of failures in effective parenting!

Growing up i remember hating the word - Discipline. It had bad written all over it. It meant restrictions. Limits i didn't feel i needed.

Funny how becoming a parent can remind us of lessons we learned as children. "Don't play in the street" "Stay away from drug dealers." and other warnings we all hopefully heard. And too many of us perhaps ignored!

Actions usually result in some form of re-action. Any student of physics can no doubt tell you about that undeniable law of physics. Actions always result in some form of reaction. Cause and effect. The stuff nature is made of.

And, an invaluable aid in effective, loving parenting. If we - as parents - ignore this critical role of family disciplinarian - we can reasonably expect certain consequences. Like unruly, perhaps even disrespectful children.

    The famous motivator - Zig Ziglar - used to tell us "If you are hard on yourself - Life gets much easier." The same lesson might be true for our beloved children. If we stay firm and practice some healthy discipline - maybe their lives will be less prone to problems as they grow older. If we remain firm in our convictions and actions toward our little loved ones - we might actually be doing them a Big Favor!

   This guy tells it much better than me.

Heart of Worship

    Many might agree that children are one of God's greatest gifts.Here's to all the lucky parents who get to experience love - for for their children! And God's love for us!

  "For the kingdom of God is not meat and drink; but righteousness, and peace, and joy in the Holy Ghost.
 For he that in these things serveth Christ is acceptable to God, and approved of men.
 Let us therefore follow after the things which make for peace, and things wherewith one may edify another."     Romans 14: 17-19

Love and Wisdom

  "The Lord liveth;
  and blessed be my rock;
  And exalted be the God of the rock of my salvation:
  Even the God that executeth vengeance for me,
  And bringeth down peoples under me,
  And that bringeth me forth from mine enemies:

 Yea, thou liftest me up above them that rise up against me: Thou deliverest me from the violent man.

  Therefore I will give thanks unto thee, O Lord, among the nations, And will sing praises unto thy name.

Great deliverance giveth he to his king: And sheweth lovingkindness to his anointed"

   " Love worketh no ill to his neighbour: therefore love is the fulfilling of the law.   "  from Paul's letters to the Romans

Love and Wisdom are the two essentials of all things of man's life;
everything of that life, civil, moral, and spiritual, hinges upon these
two, and apart from these two is nothing.

It is the same with all things of the life of a society, larger or smaller,
a kingdom, an empire, a church, and also the angelic heaven. Take away love and
wisdom from these, and consider whether they be anything, and you will find that
apart from love and wisdom as their origin they are nothing.

   Love together with wisdom in its very essence is in God. This no one can deny;
for God loves every one from love in Himself, and leads every one from wisdom in
Himself. The created universe, too, viewed in relation to its order, is so full of
wisdom coming forth from love that all things in the aggregate may be said to be
wisdom itself.

For things limitless are in such order, successively and simultaneously,
that taken together they make a one. It is from this, and this alone, that they
can be held together and continually preserved.

   It is because the Divine Essence itself is Love and Wisdom that man has two
capacities for life; from one of these he has understanding, from the other will.

The capacity from which he has understanding derives everything it has from
the influx of wisdom from God, and the capacity from which he has will derives
everything it has from the influx of love from God.

May Heaven Go With You

Do two things worth doing, every day.

Be scrupulously polite and kind, rather than witty or entertaining.

Cherish cleanliness, sobriety, frugality and contentment.

Cultivate sweetness of disposition and tranquillity of mind.

Think before speaking, and so reduce your causes of regret.

Seek peace and be peaceable.

Begin at home, let home always find you faithfully on duty.

Care carefully for those whom Providence has entrusted to your care.

And the reward of the faithful will abundantly yours,

And your heaven will go with you wherever you go.
