Serving Others

    As we enjoyed our quiet time last night he said "I want to do something to help people." Can you imagine the sense of gratitude and pride i felt upon hearing that?

I sought the Lord, and he heard me, and delivered me from all my fears.

 They looked unto him, and were lightened: and their faces were not ashamed.

 This poor man cried, and the Lord heard him, and saved him out of all his troubles.

 The angel of the Lord encampeth round about them that fear him, and delivereth them.

 O taste and see that the Lord is good: blessed is the man that trusteth in him.

 O fear the Lord, ye his saints: for there is no want to them that fear him.

My Dearest Sons,

As you head off to school on this August day, I hope and pray you will find some thing of beauty to enjoy. And learn to love others as you love yourself. Share a kind word and smile with someone who may be a little nervous or scared.

What beauty can you enjoy today?

Love Life

   Like millions of young Catholic school children we grew up believing in a mysterious, all-powerful God the Father. God is Good. The Devil is bad. End of story.  The classic good versus evil tale. We were taught to choose good. to choose our Lord and Saviour.

Finally, be ye all likeminded, compassionate, loving as brethren, tenderhearted, humbleminded:

not rendering evil for evil, or reviling for reviling; but contrariwise blessing; for hereunto were ye called, that ye should inherit a blessing.

For, He that would love life, And see good days, Let him refrain his tongue from evil, And his lips that they speak no guile:

And let him turn away from evil, and do good; Let him seek peace, and pursue it.
